THCA
The raw, non-intoxicating acid that converts to THC when heated.
02 / Definition
What is THCA?
THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the acidic form of THC found in raw, unheated cannabis flower. On its own it is not intoxicating; it converts to THC through decarboxylation when the plant is heated by smoking, vaping or cooking. This is why fresh flower must be heated to produce the familiar effects of THC.
