02 / Definition
What is Terpene?
Terpenes are the aromatic compounds responsible for the distinctive scents and flavours of cannabis, from citrus and pine to earth and fuel, and they occur widely in other plants too. Beyond aroma, they are believed to shape the overall character of a strain and contribute to the entourage effect. Common examples include myrcene, limonene and pinene.
