Schedule 0
The lowest medicines schedule, covering certain low-dose CBD products.
02 / Definition
What is Schedule 0?
Schedule 0 is the lowest control tier in South Africa’s medicines scheduling system, allowing general sale without a prescription. A Government Gazette exclusion (Gazette 43347) carved out certain low-dose CBD preparations so they fall outside prescription control, subject to strict daily-dose and per-container limits. Products that exceed those limits move up into higher, prescription-only schedules.
